MUSIC / ARTIST MANAGEMENT / COMMERCIAL GROWTH

Iman Europe: building audiences and owned channels around an artist brand

As Artist Manager & Brand Director for singer/songwriter Iman Europe, I worked across the commercial and creative operation. The assignment connected digital audience growth with the less visible infrastructure that allows an artist to turn attention into durable relationships.

01

Connecting artist branding, releases and audience growth

Streaming, social platforms, touring, merchandise, releases and email all operate differently. The challenge was to keep those channels aligned with a distinct artist identity while supporting the practical requirements of campaigns and live activity.

02

Music marketing, brand management and owned channels

I directed marketing and brand strategy alongside release operations, digital distribution, publishing administration, playlisting, partnerships, social strategy, creative direction, website and ecommerce operation, fulfillment, and email communication. I also sourced opportunities and negotiated agreements associated with the artist's commercial activity.

03

Spotify, Instagram and email audience growth

During the engagement, monthly Spotify listeners grew from approximately 25,000 to a peak near 90,000; Instagram following from approximately 25,000 to more than 50,000; and the owned email audience from under 1,000 to more than 4,000. The Spotify figure is a peak monthly-listener measure, not an ongoing subscriber count.

04

Why owned audiences matter

Borrowed attention matters, but owned channels make it possible to maintain the relationship after the algorithm or campaign changes.
